After the 2008 PPS revamp, figuring out the impact of listing a case mix diagnosis in M1020/M1022 became increasingly complex. Certain diagnoses provide more points when primary (Diabetes (DM), Skin 1, and Neuro 1 case mix diagnosis groups). This chart will help you to figure out how many points each diagnosis earns for each of the four equations whether listed in M1020 or M1022.
