Reader Question:

FIND THE MISSING OASIS TABLES

Here's where you can locate diagnoses and other valuable data, too.

Question: Where are the new OASIS Table 2a, Table 2b, and Table 4? I read that the old Table 2a is now Table 4, and I can't find the new Table 2b (diagnoses) and the old Table 4 (eligible V codes). Can you help? --

Answer:We have good news -- the tables you're looking for are still there, they just look a little different. You're right that the old Table 2a is now Table 4 (Case Mix Variable and Scoring Table). You can find it as well as the diagnoses and eligible V code tables online at www.cms.hhs.gov/HomeHealthPPS/05_CaseMixGrouperSoftware.asp.

Scroll down and click on the link for 'Nov 09 Case Mix Grouper Software.' Once the HHRGJava folder has downloaded, open it and you will find the tables in the Grouper_2409_1.tables folder. The tables are in Notepad format -- not the most user-friendly for printed tables, but the information is still handy.
