Early detection of auditory problems is best for everyone. Hearing loss isn't inevitable and it doesn't have to be permanent -- yet it often goes unnoticed because many people think it's part and parcel of growing older. Use this tool, created by the Hartford Institute of Geriatric Nursing, to spot potential hearing problems in all of your patients. And if the screen shows any hearing issues, be sure to alert patients' primary care providers immediately so that they can figure out the reason and quickly implement a solution.
