NPI ~ Are You Referencing the Right CMS-1500 Instructions?

Be sure you-ve got revised MLN article MM5060 You don't want to miss this revision to MM5060 -Additional Requirements Necessary to Implement the Revised Health Insurance Claim Form CMS-1500.-

The original article instructed you to use the billing provider's NPI on certain fields of the new CMS-1500 form. Instead, the article should read, use the -appropriate NPI- on the following items:

- 24J (replacing item 24K, Form CMS-1500 (12-90));

- 17B (replacing item 17 or 17A, Form CMS-1500 (12-90));

- 32a (replacing item 32, Form CMS-1500 (12-90));
