Reader Question:

Billing for LASIK

Question: For laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) surgery, should we use 65760 or the unlisted-procedure code?

Georgia Subscriber
Answer: Some payers request billing LASIK with 65760 (Keratomileusis). This may not be exactly what youre doing, but if you have in writing from the payer that this is the requested code, use it. Others request 66999 (Unlisted procedure, anterior segment of eye).
