Otolaryngology Coding Alert

Correction:

The June issue of Otolaryngology Coding Alert incorrectly stated that when billing for the repair of a 22-cm wound involving the face and neck, the first 7.5 cm should be reported using codes 13131 and 13132. In fact, only 13132 should be used, as this code includes any size from 2.5 to 7.5 cm, whereas 13131 describes a wound between 1.1 and 2.5 cm. The article correctly stated that 13133 also should be used to report the each additional 5 cm portion of the the 22-cm wound. Therefore, the correct coding would be:
  13132
  13133 x 3

Otolaryngology Coding Alert regrets the error.
