Correction

The November 1999 issue of Otolaryngology Coding Alert incorrectly stated that Medicare has established a 90-day post-op [i.e., global] period for trachs. In fact, the three trach-related codes (31502, tracheotomy tube change prior to establishment of fistula tract); 31600, tracheostomy, planned [separate proce-dure]); and 31601, (under 2 years) all have 0 global days
