Otolaryngology Coding Alert

Correction:

Laceration Repair

The June issue of Otolaryngology Coding Alert incorrectly stated that a 22-cm laceration of the face and neck should be coded 13131 (repair, complex, forehead, cheeks, chin, mouth, neck, axillae, genitalia, hands and/or feet; 1.1 cm to 2.5 cm), 13132 (... 2.6 to 7.5 cm) and 13133x3 (... each additional 5 cm or less [list separately in addition to code for primary procedure]). In fact, only 13132 and 13133x3 are correct. Codes 13131 and 13132 should never be billed together for the same wound. Otolaryngology Coding Alert regrets the error.
