Otolaryngology Coding Alert

Correction:

Tympanostomy Tubes

The November 2000 Otolaryngology Coding Alert incorrectly stated that the removal of tympanostomy tubes from a patients ear cannot be billed if the same physician performed the insertion of the tubes less than three years ago. If the same physician performed the insertion, he or she cannot bill for the removal regardless of when it occurred. Otolaryngology Coding Alert regrets the error.
