Condition Refresher:

Remember What Dupuytren's Contracture Is

Condition affects millions of Americans.

Dupuytren’s contracture is a painless thickening and fixed tightening (contracture) of the tissue beneath the skin on the palm of the hand and fingers. The ring finger and little finger are the fingers most commonly affected.  Although painless, the contracture of this fibrous tissue can cause the fingers to curl (flex) resulting in deformity and loss of hand function. Ten million Americans and many more worldwide suffer from this crippling hand condition.
