Commissioners predicted they would see new recommendations for E/M coding changes at the American Medical Association's June 12-16 annual meeting of the House of Delegates.

How physicians will work, starting in 2006, with private vendors chosen by competitive bidding to provide prescription drugs to Medicare. It's unclear what will be the physician's administrative responsibility to get patient information to the vendors, who have no direct contact with the patients.

Enrollment: CMS officials claimed it would take only 10 days for a new physician to get a national physician identifier after applying online if there were no problems with the application.
