Government Issues First-Ever "OIG's Most Wanted" List

Plus: Your clinic, hospice, x-ray business, or rural health clinic may soon be offering Medicare patients new info on how to complain about you.

Move over, America's Most Wanted...The OIG has its own list of fugitives, and these men and women are accused of defrauding the federal health care systems.

On Feb. 3, the OIG announced that it was launching its firstever such list, where you can read the profiles of these accused medical law-breakers.

"With our Most Wanted Fugitives List, OIG is asking the public's help in tracking down fugitives," said Inspector General Daniel R. Levinson. "The public has a stake in the fight against fraud, waste, and abuse."

Included on the list are such fugitives as Dr. Steven Moos,a former general practice physician in Oregon who lost his medical license after prescribing medications to patients who he never examined. Even after losing his license, Moos allegedly continued to practice medicine and prescribe drugs, the OIG's Web site indicates.
