Weigh In on Future MIPS Measures

If you’re interested in offering your opinion on Quality Payment Program (QPP) measures and activities, Medicare wants to know about it.

Logistics: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is accepting Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) measures for the Promoting Interoperability and Improvement Activities performance categories. The submission period runs through July 1, 2021, and is for the 2023 performance year.

OIG Tackles COVID Fraud With New Guidance

With the country starting to open back up, you might be lulled into thinking the feds might relax their COVID-19 enforcement — but, that’s not the case. In fact, the feds are ramping up their COVID-19 fraud efforts with some new tools and tips for providers.

Lowdown: The HHS Office of Inspector General continues to get serious about COVID-19 fraud. The watchdog agency has added more resources to its COVID-19 Portal, “including a searchable list of our COVID-19 reports,” it says in a release.

Other highlights on OIG’s COVID dashboard include quick links to auxiliary agencies, a strategic plan, enforcement actions, policy and guidance, and outreach. See the portal at www.oig.hhs.gov/coronavirus/index.asp.
