Although the code numbers overlap, you need to be familiar with six distinct code listings that describe ovaries as at least part of the specimen:CPT 88305  -- Level IV -- Surgical pathology, gross and microscopic examination, Ovary with or without tube, non-neoplastic 88305 -- ... Ovary, biopsy/wedge resection 88307 -- Level V -- Surgical pathology, gross and microscopic examination, Ovary with or without tube, neoplastic 88305 -- ... Uterus, with or without tubes and ovaries, other than neoplastic/prolapse 88309 -- Level VI -- Surgical pathology, gross and microscopic examination, Uterus, with or without tubes and ovaries, neoplastic
