How Many Pennies Will I Get?:

Check Out the Nebulizer Supplies Coding Cheat Sheets

Faced with small payouts on nebulizer drugs and equipment, coders can't consume precious time searching for applicable codes, formulas and reimbursement rates. So, post the charts below to locate codes for popular inhalation medications and supplies, unit billing formulas, and Medicare's reimbursement rate. The charts reveal Medicare maximum payment rates for supplies published in the Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies 2003 Fee Schedule and drug fee schedules. CMS contracts with four companies (durable medical equipment regional carriers) to process DMEPOS claims. The agency reimburses accepted drugs at 95 percent of the manufacturer-reported average wholesale price. Private carriers may follow Medicare's fee schedules in whole or in part. For specific rates, see individual carrier fee schedules.
