Errata

Correction 1: Regarding the Reader Question in Physical Medicine & Rehab Coding Alert, Vol. 9, No. 9, that said, "The Nov. 27 Federal Register did state that aides and techs in SNF Part A and inpatient hospital settings would no longer be able to perform 'therapy services' even under supervision, but CMS has not yet released manual guidance on this ruling ..."

The Nov. 27 Federal Register did not specifically mention aides and techs in these settings. However, the issue of whether aides and techs in inpatient hospital and SNF Part A settings could perform therapy services, even under supervision, did emerge as a topic of discussion among policy makers after this Federal Register was published, and industry leaders expected guidance from CMS on the issue in July of this year. CMS, however, has yet to release manual guidance on this subject. Currently, in the SNF Part A setting, minutes of therapy services provided by aides under "line of sight" supervision of the therapist are billable.

Correction 2: The article on the Medicare Home Health Flexibility Act in Physical Medicine & Rehab Coding Alert, Vol. 9, No. 10, cited the bill as H.R. 5794. The correct bill number is H.R. 5704. We apologize for the errors.
