News Brief! PM&R Practices Should Prepare for New ABN

Physiatrists and therapists who use advance beneficiary notices (ABNs) for services that may be denied should take note of HCFA's revised draft, which was released on April 19th. The new ABN includes several changes to both the general and laboratory waiver forms that reflect simplifications requested by medical and billing professionals, including the option of personalizing the form to the practices specialty. HCFA will review comments on this and submit them to the Office of Management and Budget for approval.
