Regional home health intermediary Palmetto GBA has revised its Local Coverage Determinations for Home Health Occupational Therapy (L12643) and Home Health Speech Language Pathology (L7002). The changes, which include the addition of 96125 (Standardized cognitive performance testing [e.g., Ross Information Processing Assessment] ...), became effective Jan. 4, Palmetto said.

Palmetto's code definition spells out additional tests that an occupational therapist could report with this code, including the Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment (LOTCA), the Motor-Free Visual Perception Test (MVPT), and the Allen Cognitive Test (ACL).

"This is usually done outside the Occupational Therapy's initial evaluation/ re-evaluation," Palmetto said.
