Question: What resources are available for adjusting the fee schedule for our practice? I used to use a worksheet that a vendor sent out, but it’s no longer available. I know there are some hard copy resources, but making a sort of crosswalk from hard copy to electronic feels extra tedious. Vermont Subscriber Answer: There are several options available for calculating the relative value units (RVUs) for your services and setting your fees accordingly. Depending on which insurance carriers your patients use, and the carriers with which you contract, you can compare their fee schedules to establish your own baseline. AAPC has a calculator that you can use, as well. If you have a vendor for your electronic health record (EHR) system, you can check whether RVU adjustments are a feature the software has the capability for making minute adjustments to RVUs that carry across the board.
