Preview Your Care Compare Rating

Question: Is there a way to see a Care Compare rating before it goes live to the public?

Illinois Subscriber

Answer: Yes! There is a secure preview period for doctors and clinicians which opened Jan. 25, 2021, and will remain open through 8 p.m. on March 25. However, only some doctors and physicians can access the preview, including those who submitted Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance information for 2019; who are not MIPS eligible but submitted 2019 information anyway; who are participating in an alternative payment model (APM) that submitted 2019 information; and groups that submitted Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS) for MIPS survey data for 2019, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The preview is offered so doctors and clinicians can see what users of Care Compare and the Provider Data Catalog (PDC) will see once the information becomes public.

Note: “Clinicians and groups who are not MIPS eligible and MIPS APM participants who voluntarily submitted 2019 MIPS performance information will have the opportunity to opt out of having their 2019 performance information publicly reported on Care Compare and in the PDC,” CMS says.
