Submit 99211 for Blood Pressure Check

Question: An established patient came to our office for a blood pressure check because he had begun new medication for hypertension. How would I bill this?

Answer: If the patient only saw the nurse or certified assistant for a blood pressure check, report 99211 (Office or other outpatient visit for the evaluation and management of an established patient, that may not require the presence of a physician ...). Include the appropriate hypertension diagnosis.
