Brush Up on Generalized Anxiety Disorder Basics

Patients with generalized anxiety disorder experience excessive apprehension and fear over normal day-to-day situations that would not elicit the same response in an individual without the disorder. These apprehensions are long lasting, often running for a period of many months.

Due to the anxiety state, the person loses normal abilities of action taking and decision making. The person suffering from this condition might also have other co-morbid conditions such as depression and other mental disorders. The person might also suffer from sexual dysfunction, which manifests as erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation in men and pain during sex in women.
