Pulmonology Coding Alert

CCI Update:

No Changes of Note for Pulmonologists

Although the latest version of the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) contains several references to pulmonology codes, none of the edits are surprising or should seriously impact coding and reimbursement. CCI version 8.2 went into effect July 1. As part of our ongoing effort to keep subscribers up-to-date regarding the latest coding changes, we report on CCI quarterly releases as soon as they occur. You should review the changes for both additions, which can mean revenue limitations, and deletions, which may indicate revenue opportunities. The next version of CCI (8.3) will take effect Oct. 1. Pulmonology Coding Alert will inform readers of any changes that impact their specialty. You can attain a copy of the CCI edits from the National Technical Information Service on the Web at http://www.ntis.gov/products/families/correct_coding.asp?loc= 4-3-3 or by calling 1-800-363-2068.
