California Subscriber Answer: You may report a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the penis under codes 72195 (Magnetic resonance (eg, proton) imaging, pelvis; without contrast material(s)), 72196 (… with contrast material(s)), and 72197 (… without contrast material(s), followed by contrast material(s) and further sequences). Assuming the number of sequences equates to that of a more traditional MRI, there’s no need to report this service with modifier 52 (Reduced Services).
