Question: What is the best way to bill for bladder cocktails for interstitial cystitis?

Answer: For instilling the medication, bill 51700* (bladder irrigation, simple, lavage and/or instillation). Bill the following drugs: J1212 (injection, DMSO, diymethyl sulfoxide, 50%, 50 ml), J1644 (injection, heparin sodium, per 1,000 units), J3301 (injection, triamcinolone acetonide, per 10 mg) and J3490 (unclassified drugs). Do not use catheterization codes 53670 or 53675, because they are included in 51700*.
