Question: What is the code for cauterizing an ulcer on the perineum? It was done to relieve pain. Missouri Subscriber Answer: You should report this procedure using 17110 (Destruction [eg, laser surgery, electrosurgery, cryosurgery, chemosurgery, surgical curettement], of benign lesions other than skin tags or cutaneous vascular proliferative lesions; up to 14 lesions). This is the proper code whether your urologist used a chemical cauterization, such as silver nitrate or other compound, a laser, or electro cauterization.
