Reader Question:

Turn to 64425 for Most Orchialgia Treatment Injections

Question: Our physician administered an injection (under general anesthesia) for a patient who has idiopathic orchialgia. How do we code this?

Arizona Subscriber

Answer: In most situations of orchialgia, the physician performs a spermatic cord block, which you should be reported with 64425 (Injection, anesthetic agent; ilioinguinal, iliohypogastric nerves). Before automatically submitting 64425, however, verify the details of the procedure with your physician.
