Check With Payer for Renacidin Drug Pay

Question: Can we be reimbursed for Renacidin in an office setting if the urologist is using it as an irrigation solution for treatment of bladder calculi?South Carolina SubscriberAnswer: Medicare will not pay you for Q2004 (Irrigation solution for treatment of bladder calculi, for example renacidin, per 500 ml). You may, however, receive payment for the Renacidin from private payers.. Therefore, you should check with your individual payers. Report 51700 (Bladder irrigation, simple, lavage and/or instillation) for the drug instillation. Use ICD-9 code 594.1 (Other calculus in bladder) for the bladder calculus.
