Medicare replaced the files it initially published for the January 2025 release of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS). The updates are included on Codify by AAPC in our fee tools. This includes revised data for relative value units (RVUs) and geographic practice cost indices (GPCIs). The GPCI file reflects that the 1.0 work GPCI floor was extended through March 31, 2025, by the American Relief Act, 2025, which became law in December 2024. For example, Medicare originally published a physician work GPCI of 0.978 for Alabama. But with the 1.0 floor, the physician work GPCI for Alabama is 1.0.
