First-quarter updates to coding data are available on Codify by AAPC as of Jan. 1, 2026. Many areas related to coding and billing saw changes. Here’s a sampling of the areas where you’ll find updates, depending on your Codify by AAPC package:
- CPT® codes, appendices, and guidelines
- HCPCS Level II codes and tables
- Medicare fee schedules, such as the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS), average sales price (ASP) drug pricing files, and Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule
- Important: There are two MPFS conversion factors and two anesthesia conversion factors in 2026. Codify by AAPC tools have been updated to reflect these changes. To apply the correct conversion factor, choose QP for qualifying alternative payment model (APM) participants (QPs). QPs receive a higher annual update to the conversion factor. Choose non-QP for practitioners who are not QPs. Clinicians not participating in or meeting metrics for APMs receive a lower annual update to the conversion factor.
- National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Procedure-to-Procedure edits for Medicare and Medicaid
- Medically Unlikely Edits (MUEs) for Medicare and Medicaid
- National drug code (NDC) crosswalk to HCPCS
- National coverage determination (NCD) to ICD-10-CM crosswalk for labs

The first quarter includes January, February, and March dates of service. Be sure you apply this latest information to your claims to improve accuracy and optimize reimbursement.
