I have a question regarding a chiropractor who wants to go to a facility and rent an office and see patients at that facility a couple days a week. My question is he is a medicare provider but the office that will be billing for him is not. Can this office bill for him and he get paid at this location as "practicing at another location" as a medicare provider? Or does that multiple locations only apply to his office doing the billing wherever he goes ie hospital, separate office locations, etc? Would that facility he sees patients at that is not a medicare provider even be able to bill under his number tieing him to their place of service and still be reimbursed as provider?
thank you for your help

No. It is my understanding and experience that the place he wants to temp at would have to enroll via 855B with their MAC, and then he would have to complete an 855R to re-assign his benefits to the new facility (as listed separately from his original facility)

Should only take about 3 months to get all the approvals and PTANs ;)
