I have been finding conflicting information on whether the MD can supervise a mental health NP and LPC under the family medicine clinic. CMS.gov has been confusing to understand. Essentially will the MD be able to supervise a mental health NP and LPC under current medical taxonomy of family med

Hi Rebecalea:)
Yes the MD or NP can help these LCSW or LPC therapist if pt. needs psych medications. Naturally the patient will need to have an appointment with the MD or NP in order to get prescribe medications . LPC and LCSW therapist cannot prescribe meds this refer pt for MD/NP input. Ensure all (LPCS LCSW MD NP) are credentialed with current payers and check payer regs too
I hope helped you :)
