I'm unsure how to code this surgery it was a Operative Laparoscopy with fulguration with endometrial implants. Any ideas?
What the heck are endometrial implants please. :/I'll give you the code description. It's your job to find the code.
Laparoscopy, surgical; with fulguration or excision of lesions of the ovary, pelvic viscera, or peritoneal surface by any method
Endometrial implants are just another way of saying endometriosis. Tissue/cells that typically grow inside the uterus are outside the uterus. What the heck are endometrial implants please. :/

That's what I was thinking it was! Just wanted to double check that. Thank youWhat the heck are endometrial implants please. :/
OH my gosh! All I could think was "who wants an abdominal endometrial implant???" I would think the proper term would be "explant".Endometrial implants are just another way of saying endometriosis. Tissue/cells that typically grow inside the uterus are outside the uterus.
I'm just so used to the term, I never even thought about it that way. The implants are there already by the patients own biological process and the physician is removing/destroying them. At least I hope no one is inserting them.OH my gosh! All I could think was "who wants an abdominal endometrial implant???" I would think the proper term would be "explant".
Agh! Indeed!!I'm just so used to the term, I never even thought about it that way. The implants are there already by the patients own biological process and the physician is removing/destroying them. At least I hope no one is inserting them.
