Overview:

With the impending reduction in reimbursement always looming around the corner it has become more important for coders to understand the proper use of modifiers, more so the modifiers that change how providers are paid. During this webinar we will discuss the proper use of the most popular modifiers that affect reimbursement. We will look at the following modifiers: -24, -25, -57, -59, -79 and -22, -51.

You Will Learn:

  • The right way to use the modifiers -24 and -22
  • What really happened per the documentation to support modifier -25 or -57
  • Is this a separate procedure that will support modifier -59 or is modifier -51 the correct choice
  • Does your documentation support the use of modifier -79 for the unrelated return to the operative suite?

Susan Ward, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CEMC, CPCD, CPRC

Susan has 20 years of coding and billing experience. She currently works for a reconstructive plastic surgeon in Phoenix. She is an approved PMCC instructor, AAPC workshop presenter, past president of her local AAPC chapter, and was a member of the 2007-2009 AAPC National Advisory Board.
