READER QUESTIONS:

Count Diskography Levels for Reporting 72295

Question: If a physician performs diskography at  C5-6, L1-2, L3-4 and L5-6, how many times should we report the diskography?

Ohio Subscriber Answer: You may bill the supervision and interpretation of diskography for each level performed, so in this case you report 72295 (Diskography, lumbar, radiological supervision and interpretation) three times.

L1-2 is the first lumbar level, L3-4 is the second lumbar level, and L5-6 is the third lumbar level. Bill the cervical level with 72285 (Diskography, cervical or thoracic, radiological supervision and interpretation).
