Ace This Aortogram Report

Question: How should I code a report for an infrarenal abdominal aortogram? The report notes "fusiform abdominal aortic aneurysm." There was no heart catheterization on the same date.Nevada SubscriberAnswer:For the aortogram, you should report 75625 (Aortography, abdominal, by serialography, radiological supervision and interpretation) for the imaging supervision and interpretation. Infrarenal means just below the renal arteries, which supply the kidneys with blood and typically arise off of the abdominal aorta. You also should report 36200 (Introduction of catheter, aorta) for the catheter placement. For the fusiform (wider in the middle and tapering toward the ends) abdominal aortic aneurysm, you should report 441.4 (Abdominal aneurysm without mention of rupture).
