Help Hospitals With New Readmission Measures

• You might be able to improve your relationship with referring hospitals if you can help them out with two new quality measures Medicare intends to track: "30-Day All-Cause Readmission following Elective Total Hip or Knee Replacement" and "30-Day All-Cause Readmission following an Ischemic Stroke Hospitalization." CMS just wrapped up taking comments on the hip and knee replacement measure and will close the comment period for the stroke measure Aug. 18.
