Heartland Hospice Dodges Bullet In Whistleblower Cases

The feds have declined to intervene in four newly unsealed whistleblower lawsuits against HCR ManorCare's Heartland Hospice Services business unit, according to press reports. The suits alleged Heartland furnished services to patients not eligible for the benefit due to prognosis. The case is U.S. ex rel v. Heartland Hospice Services, LLC (3:16-cv-02657).
