Use These Factors In Fall Assessments

Updated fall risk guidelines from the American Geriatrics Society will apply to your patients. "Environmental adaptation to reduce fall risk factors in the home" is one of the components of the society's guidelines on preventing falls in older persons, which has been updated for the first time in a decade. Interventions the AGS recommends include medication reduction and raising low blood pressure.A summary of the guidelines are in the January Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
