Hospices Hope For RHC Rate Resolution

Will Medicare’s latest claims system update finally clear up problems related to Routine Home Care high/low payments? Hospices aren’t holding their breath. Hospices have been wrestling with RHC payments being incorrectly adjusted for high (first 60 days) and low (over 60 days) factors since the dual-level payments began in January 2016. While many of the payment glitches have been resolved over the past three years, others remain. For example: “Some hospice adjustments continue to process with incorrect two tier (high/low) payment rates for Routine Home Care services,” HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS said on its claims processing issues webpage Feb. 5. “A resolution will be implemented on 3/4/2019,” the MAC said.
