Report To Congress Features Hospice Fraud

OIG applauds DRG proration. The HHS Office of Inspector General’s Semiannual Report to Congress is another chance for the watchdog agency to paint the hospice industry with a broad fraud and abuse brush. The 107-page report retreads two reports on hospice surveys that drew widespread media attention this summer, and applauds the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ implementation of hospital DRG proration for “early” discharges to hospice.
