Hospice News:

Use These New NCLOS Stats For Benchmarking

Wondering how your hospice patients' length of stay stacks up to your peers? Check out one MAC's latest non-cancer length-of-stay data.

The condition with the longest average LOS is Alzheimer's at 225 days, according to Palmetto GBA's latest data, from July to December of 2011. The condition with the shortest average LOS is renal at 44 days.

Note: Palmetto now sends all hospices that submit claims to it their own NCLOS data. "This precludes the need to submit a written request for this information, as previously required," the MAC says on its website.
