The following House bills were introduced:

H.R. 1784. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to update the renal dialysis composite rate. Introduced April 11 by Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. H.R. 1788. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to extend the minimum Medicare deadlines for filing claims to take into account delay in processing adjustments from secondary payer status to primary payer status. Introduced April 11 by Rep. Jerry Costello (D-IL), referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Energy and Commerce. H.R. 1665. A bill to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for the coverage of marriage and family therapist services under Part B of the Medicare program, and for other purposes. Introduced April 7 by Rep. Ted Strickland (D-OH), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. H.R. 1675. A bill to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to protect and preserve the access of Medicare beneficiaries to health care provided by hospitals in rural areas, and for other purposes. Introduced April 8 by Rep. Jerry Moran (R-KS), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. The following Senate bills were introduced:

S. 816. A bill to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to protect and preserve the access of Medicare beneficiaries to health care provided by hospitals in rural areas, and for other purposes. Introduced April 8 by Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND), referred to the Committee on Finance. S. 823. A bill to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for the expeditious coverage of new medical technology under the Medicare, and for other purposes. Introduced April by Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), referred to the Committee on Finance.
