HHS Offers CERT Relief After Natural Disasters

If your practice was impacted by one of the recent hurricanes, you have a little extra time to send Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) data.

Update: “In response to the public health emergency (PHE) declared by the HHS Secretary under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act, the CERT program has granted temporary administrative relief to providers and suppliers in areas impacted by recent natural disasters,” according to an alert from Part B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) Palmetto GBA.

Hurricane Fiona: If your practice or facility was impacted by Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico, all claims with a physical or mailing address in Puerto Rico are on hold through Dec. 16.

Hurricane Ian: If your practice or facility was impacted by Hurricane Ian, all claims with a physical or mailing address in Florida or South Carolina are on hold through Dec. 27.
