The February 2002 Ob-Gyn Coding Alert reader question "Coding Ultrasounds" should have stated that Medicare assigns 13.38 relative value units (RVUs) to 58340 if the ob-gyn performs the procedure in the office. If the physician performs it in a facility or other outpatient setting, it has 1.29 RVUs. Similarly, the answer should have stated that 76831 has 2.53 RVUs if performed in the office and that its professional component is valued at 1.01 RVUs.
