Is There a Quad Muscle Repair Code?

Question: Our surgeon repaired a quadriceps tendon rupture. Is there a code to describe this service?

Pennsylvania Subscriber

Answer: Yes. You should report 27385 (Suture of quadriceps or hamstring muscle rupture; primary) for initial ruptures. If the surgeon repaired a secondary rupture, you should report 27386 (Suture of quadriceps or hamstring muscle rupture; secondary reconstruction, including fascial or tendon graft) instead.
