Reader Question:

How to Code for Injection With Supplied Serum

Question: We have a patient who receives allergy injections at our otolaryngology office during the summer months only. She brings in her own serum. How should we bill for the injection? Florida Subscriber Answer: If the other physician prescribed the medication, you should use 95115 (Professional services for allergen immunotherapy not including provision of allergenic extracts; single injection) for a single injection or 95117 (... two or more injections) for multiple injections.
