Question: What is the injection administration code for a foot injection to treat bursitis?

Answer: The choices for a foot injection are either 20600 (Arthrocentesis, aspiration and/or injection, small joint or bursa [eg, fingers, toes]; without ultrasound guidance) or 20605 (Arthrocentesis, aspiration and/or injection, intermediate joint or bursa [e.g., temporomandibular, acromioclavicular, wrist, elbow or ankle, olecranon bursa]; without ultrasound guidance). The correct option will depend on whether the joint your provider injected is considered small or intermediate.
