Humana Settles Physician Lawsuit

If you deal with private managed care payors, then you should welcome some changes in the way they're treating physicians. Humana became the latest payor--after Aetna, Cigna, Prudential and HealthNet--to settle a physician lawsuit.
Humana agreed to change the way it does business in response to physician complaints about paperwork and excessive denials. The changes should reduce your overhead and costs of appeals. Humana also will establish a settlement fund from which physicians can seek compensation.
