Podiatry Coding & Billing Alert

Correction:

Avulsion of Nail Plate

Podiatry Coding Alert Volume 1, Number 2 contained a partially incorrect answer to the avulsion of nail plate reader question. The answer mistakenly provided the following codes for when more than one nail avulsion is performed: 11730 -- TA (left foot, great toe); 11730 T5-59 (right foot, great toe); 11730 T1-59 (left foot, second digit). The correct codes are 11730 -- TA (left foot, great toe); 11732 T5-59 (right foot, great toe); 11732 T1-59 (left foot, second digit). 11732 is used for each additional nail plate after the first (11730). We apologize for the error.
